Creator and director Dallas Jenkins told fans at last month’s ChosenCon in Charlotte, North Carolina, that Season 6 will debut on Prime Video this fall, then wrap with a theatrical finale in spring 2027.

“Season 6 is the biggest season we’ve ever done, without a close second,” Jenkins teased fans. “The whole season is super-sized.”

The upcoming season will focus on the final days of Jesus’ life, including his arrest, trial and crucifixion.

Jenkins also said the end is closer than it feels. Season 7 will begin filming in less than two months, he said, and the story will move in a way some viewers might not expect. Jenkins said the crucifixion will unfold early in the final season before the show pivots toward the opening portion of Acts, including major moments like the ascension.

“We’ve got things like the ascension and all of that, that we’re figuring out right now,” Jenkins said.

Beyond the main series, Jenkins said The Chosen in the Wild with Bear Grylls will also arrive on Prime Video this year, while the limited series Joseph of Egypt is in post-production and targeting the first half of 2027. After Season 7, he said he’ll take a break before turning to more projects, including a three-season Book of Moses and an Acts-centered series, The Way of the Chosen, focused on the apostle Paul.
