New York Jets’ quarterback Justin Fields says his future may include a lot more than football. During a recent conversation on The Walk Foundation Podcast , Fields opened up about what he hopes to do one day after the game, and his answer was simple and clear: “I want to be a missionary.” “I want to go to different countries, go to different places and be able to spread His word,” Fields said. “Just help people find Christ and help people get that relationship started with Him.” Fields made it clear this wasn’t just wishful thinking. He’s already started to lay the groundwork to make this mission a reality. “I’ve actually been talking to a few friends and I’m going to try to go somewhere,” he said, “whether it’s somewhere in Africa or just somewhere where people haven’t necessarily gotten the opportunity to build that relationship or even get that relationship started.” Fields said the bigger thread running through all of it is service. “I love just helping people out,” he said. “I love being a servant to others and being able to bless others.” Whether or not he makes it overseas, Fields made it clear his future will be centered around serving others. “So, I think I’m going to get into a field of that,” Fields said. “I’m just not sure of what exactly it’s going to be, but somewhere in that field, whether it’s helping young kids.” For now, Fields’ focus remains on football — so while missions may be part of his long-term calling, he’s still very much building his career in the NFL.
